Check out Parker jamming with Graveyard on the last stop of the Radio Moscow / Graveyard USA tour back on February 1, 2012. This was the last show of the tour at The Tractor in Seattle, Washington. Parker played with Graveyard on the second to last song “Thinline” before the Swedish rockers closed the show / tour with their song “Evil Ways”. Keep an eye an out for Graveyards. Their new album titled “Lights Out” coming out in late October.
It’s been quite a blast, quite sad that its reached its end. Couldn’t have asked for a better tour. Huge thanks to Graveyard for bringing Radio Moscow on the road and to Lonnie and Billy for saving the tour! Also thanks to the Mad Alchemist for bringing his liquid light show on the road with us! And of course, thank you to all the fans that came out and joined us. See y’all on the road again soon.
After Green & Wood, Radio Moscow took the stage, almost unrecognizable from just three weeks ago when singer/songwriter, guitarist, and band leader Parker Griggs parted ways with the other two-thirds of his power trio and flew in bassist Billy Ellsworth and drummer Lonnie Blanton to support him on this tour and potentially beyond. Thrown to the wolves by the band’s frontman, the two newbies immediately demonstrated their worthiness on set opener Broke Down, off the 2009 albumBrain Cycles. Blanton’s thunderous work on his minimalist kit and Ellsworth’s rolling, muddy bass provided the ideal backdrop for Griggs’ inspired throwback guitar work. Radio Moscow continued their roll on Speedfreak and Creepin, both off 2011’sThe Great Escape of Leslie Magnafuzz, with Griggs and company sounding like they’d been together all along. During “Speedfreak”’s calamitous ending, all three band members were lost in their own instruments, but somehow producing a singular vision of modern blues metal. They seemlessly […]

January 28th, 2012 by Greg Ackerman After learning Radio Moscow front man, Parker Griggs was arriving in Austin with a new rhythm section in tow, we were a bit concerned the show would not measure up to their great set at Austin Psych Fest last year. Griggs mentioned early in the set they had only been playing together two weeks. Although there were a few rough patches early on, overall the performance was mind-meltingly, crowd-pleasing. After seeing short sets at Psych Fest and Wednesday’s opening set for Swedish psych-rockers, Graveyard we are looking forward to seeing Radio Moscow headline next time they come through Austin. …. Radio Moscow: Escaping to the Woods With Parker Griggs By Jason P. Woodbury Wed., Jan. 25 2012 Unapologetically catering to dood rockers, Alive launched The Black Keys, and has continued pumping out slabs of wax from psych, garage, blues, and power pop bands (Dan Auerbach of ‘the Keys still shows up to man the producer chair for many of the label’s releases). The labels latest compilation, Where is Parker Griggs? features 14 cuts, ranging from the gospel leaning “Everything that You Took” by Lee Bains and The Glory Fires to brisk pop like “Love Me Baby” from Latino rockers Hacienda. But perhaps the most “out there track” on the record is the opener, “Open Your Eyes,” by Radio Moscow, fronted by the titular Griggs. With its screaming fuzz, echo, and backward tape masking, the song illustrates both the boot scooting Midwest feel of the band’s Iowan roots and the far out, acid washed sounds of […]
